Networking PABXSoft allows other people on your company network to run Reports. There is no limit to the number of installation you can do, as long as they are on the same geographic site and able to connect to the computer where the pabxcalls.mdb database is located.
It's easy to do, but there are rules that must be followed !
On the client PC(s) install Reports, not Call Collector, and when installed copy the license file used on the first computer to the PABXSoft directory in C:\Program Files of the second computer.
Go to the first computer and close down ALL PABXSoft programs.
Then browse to C:\Program Files and share the entire PABXSoft directory with Full Access on all tabs with the specific user name of the second user. Do not use the Everyone Group, it has lower level permissions than are required.
Don't forget to provide Full Access (Read and Write) on the Security Tab as well.
Then go to the second computer and start up Reports. You will be prompted to locate the database on the first computer (typically in C:\Program Files\PABXSoft\Call Collector\Data\pabxcalls.mdb).
That's it. Close the Reports program on the second computer. Repeat the process for all other users, and when finished, with all others users Reports programs shut down, re-start your Call Collector, or Call Collector Windows Service.
Troubleshooting
Do you get a 'File already in use' message when trying to register the new client PC?
In order to register a license nothing at all must be accessing the database (e.g. Call Collector, Call Collector Service, another user with Reports open, Watchdog etc). You must close all PABXSoft applications and services on EVERY PC before attempting to register a new user. 9 times out of ten the problem is the Call Collector Windows Service is left running.
Still not fixed?
Sharing the PABXsoft folder on the 1st computer (where the main database is located)
requires full control. Experience has shown that sharing with the 'Everyone' group seldom works. You need to share with the specific client PC name.
Make sure you also applied Full Control on ALL the tabs.
