Registration

If you have purchased PABXSoft you will be sent a small registration file in your business name
(e.g. Acme Tools.lic) All our license keys have a .lic file extension.

The license key should be copied, without attempting to open it to the PABXSoft directory in C:\Program Files after installation of the software and before launching any PABXSoft programs.

If PABXSoft Reports finds the license in the correct place when it first launches (you must always start Reports up first after installation) then the license will automatically register.
The license is an encrypted file containing Your Business name, Telephone Number, Type of Telephone System, Your Country, Zip code and the version of PABXSoft you have purchased.

You can use the same license key on as many computers in your office as you wish allowing others to run Reports
(See FAQ on Networking) but you are not permitted to use the license key at another location. If you have another office you must purchase another license.

If your software does not automatically register (earlier versions of PABXSoft did not do this) then you can manually register the license, in Reports>Setup>Registration. Click on Purchased license, then Locate and double click the license file and then click Continue.

14 Day Free Trial
You do not need to have a purchased license to use PABXSoft. The software comes with a free 14 Day Trial. If you like the software after the trial, and we are sure you will, you simply need to register your new license.
Reports>Setup>Registration. Click on 14 Day trial, select your country and then click Continue.

Demonstration
You can select Demonstration mode if you do not yet have a connection to your telephone system but would like to see how the software looks and see reports samples. Reports>Setup>Registration. Click on Demonstration, select your country and then click Continue.

Typical Problems with Registration
You must have Call Collector shut down before you try to register a new license. The registration process writes data to the pabxcalls.mdb database and requires exclusive use of the database, so all other PABXSoft programs on your LAN need to be shut down before you can register a new user.

Wrong version. A Version 8 license will not work on a Version 6 installation and vice versa. If you have an earlier version of PABXSoft (purchased prior to June 2006) but have upgraded to Version 8 from the downloads page of our web site you will not be able to register. You can use the Contact Form opposite to ask what the price would be to upgrade to Version 8, or you can 'downgrade' your installation simply by going to the Latest Upgrades page on our web site and getting the latest upgrades for your Version. You don't need to uninstall anything, just run the file and it will be put back to the correct version.
